Thank you for visiting my website about Cinderella. The Dutch translation for Cinderella is Assepoester. This website is created to show you my Cinderella (book) collection and also to share the magic of this very enchanting fairytale. As long as I can remember I have always been attracted to this magical fairytale story of Cinderella. Through the years I tried to collect (almost) everything I could find. Mostly books in various languages but also some very rare Cinderella items, like dvd’s, vhs, puzzles, postcards, stamps and more. Look for it on this page dedicated to Cinderella!!

Bedankt voor het bezoeken van mijn Assepoester website. De Engelse vertaling voor Assepoester is Cinderella. Deze website is speciaal gemaakt om mijn Assepoester (boeken) verzameling met jullie te delen. Zolang ik me kan herinneren was Assepoester mijn favoriete sprookje. Retta Scott and Cinderella

Tonight I learned something new about a Cinderella book I have in my collection. Again I used Google to find interesting stuff about Cinderella. I found this website that has images from the book and a little info about the artist who illustrated this book.

Her name was Retta Scott, born in Omak, Washington, on February 23, 1916, she worked for a short period for Disney and she was the studio’s first woman animator. She worked on Bambi and Dumbo and as a freelance artist for the Disney studio she illustrated “Cinderella” (A Big Golden Book).

Here are some of the illustrations (click any image to enlarge) she made for this Cinderella book, published in 1950 to tie in with the Disney film. Retta Scott died August 26, 1990, at her home in Foster City, California.

2 new Dutch Cinderella books

My friend Ria found 2 new Dutch Cinderella books. Ria is like my “personal Cinderella book shopper”. I don’t know where she finds them, but she does. Every now and then I receive an email from Ria with a photo from the book(s) or other interesting items she found. I am always excited because Ria mostly finds Cinderella books that I don’t have in my collection and as you can see I have a lot of Cinderella books… Yesterday I visited Ria to pick up some rare items like the 2 books below. She also found some more things, later this week I will add them to the website. Enjoy the new books.

Hermes goes Cinderella

The latest Hermés campaign for Spring 2010 has a really magical theme. They inspired their new images on some iconic heroines like Cinderella and The Little Mermaid. The model portraying these icons is Karlie Kloss and photo’s are taken by Paolo Roversie. Enjoy!

A different Cinderella story

Here is another Cinderella story. My boyfriend has an app on his iPhone with only Grimm fairytale stories. He showed me this Cinderella story. It’s like a comic book and I think it’s more a thingy for adults. I’d still like to share this with you… I am always interested in different Cinderella stories and also in this story. If you know other interesting Cinderella stories, just sent me a link or some photo’s.
